My Top Boxers

My Top 10 Boxers since the 1960's.

by Simon Zohhadi on Friday, 24 December 2010 at 17:02 ·
1. Muhammed Ali ( A brilliant but not the complete boxer, however, the greatest boxing personality in boxing history who achieved the `impossible').
2. Sugar Ray Robinson (Arguably the best pound for pound boxer in the ring).
3. George Foreman (At his peak the most dangerous boxer in the ring who also became the oldest World Heavyeright Champion of all time. Great boxing record.)
4. Manny Pacquiao (Throws punches from every conceivable angle. An extraordinary boxer. Not invincible but at his best he is supreme. Only potential hiccup on the horizon will be a defeat against Mayweather, if they fight).
5. Lennox Lewis (Britain's greatest ever boxer. Reversed only 2 defeats. Beat all comers including Holyfield and Tyson).
6. Julio César Chávez (Went almost 100 fights undefeated).
7. Sugar Ray Leonard (Great boxer whose ego eventually got the better of him and fought unecessary fights at the end of his career).
8. Floyd Mayweather (Another multiple world champion in the list. Brilliant boxer. Doesn't have the all-round boxing ability of Pacquiao but has the knockout punch to defeat him).
9. Thomas Hearns (Brilliant boxer with knockout punch).
10. Marvin Hagler (Great middleweight champion.Yes, he beat Hearns but Hearns was a multiple world champion).

MY TOP 10 HEAVYWEIGHT BOXERS OF ALL TIME

by Simon Zohhadi on Wednesday, 8 September 2010 at 22:36 ·
1. Muhammed Ali (the greatest in and out of the ring. Faced the toughest opponents and came out on top)
2. Lennox Lewis (arguably the best all round boxer. Knocked out twice but he came back and emphatically reversed those defeats)
3. George Foreman (the best puncher in history and would be No 1 if he hadn't have lost to Ali)
4. Joe Louis (longest reigning champion)
5. Larry Holmes (almost the complete heavyweight but had little opposition)
6. Evander Holyfield (boxed above his weight and stood up to Tyson)
7. Vitali Klitschko (underated but could rise up the ranks)
8. Joe Frazier (Ali's equal when they fought each other but destroyed by Foreman)
9. Mike Tyson (a great fighter at his peak but his decline was long and deep)
10. Gene Tunney (beat Dempsey twice)
11. Jack Dempsey (very popular boxer)
12. Rocky Marciano (undefeated but quality of opponents were questionable)
