The Presidential campaign in Iran seems to be low key. I hope the people make a wise choice.
Whatever peoples views, the Islamic Republic is here to stay and it will be up to the spiritual leader of Iran to decide on the extent of any reform permitted.
A reformer is therefore not necessary but a diplomat is ! Iran requires a President who has the capacity to persuade the powers that be, both internally and externally.
It is time for the Iranian Government to reach a compromised settlement over the middle-east (accepting a two-state solution), adopting a more critical or at least a neutral position on Syria and improving its relationship with the West.
